[REVIEW] Lush FUN Christmas + Angels Delight Soap

Hi everyone!

I'm taking a break of Korean cosmetics to review this cool soap set!

This is a special holiday set that I got on Boxing Day (which was ages ago) and I didn't want to touch it because it looked too cool to use.

During Boxing Day, there was also a Buy 1 Get 1 Free event, where I got a free piece of soap (also holiday themed).

On with the review!

I got this from Lush, a company originating from the UK that sells vegan free handmade soaps and more!

Check out their website here

It was $8.95 + tax CAD.  It's a reasonable price to pay for three "bars" of soap I would think.

Super fun packaging!  I had a blast just staring at it for a few moments, it was like opening a present after Christmas; which mind you, is even better!  As people say, the more the merrier! :D

Something really awkward happened while I was shopping at Lush.  So I picked up this package and slid it open to see what was inside and all these pieces of styrofoam fell out and someone came to me to help me pick them up.  I guess it's something I will always remember when I use this :P.

Sorry for getting sidetracked.

On the back of the package, it says where it's made and when, which is awesome!

Here are the different flavours:

Green FUN:  Lather up with this zesty lemon and lime FUN to enliven your senses!
Red FUN:  A sunny mandarin-scented piece of FUN to play and wash with.
Gold FUN:  Limited edition FUN, made with out irresistible Honey I Washed the Kids fragrance.

My favourite would have to be the Green FUN because the smell is the most prominent.  True to the words, it smells like lemon and lime and it is heavenly.  Meanwhile, the Red FUN smells like it could be orange, strawberry, or grape smell.  But, please do not believe me because I don't think my sense of smell is that great.  The Gold FUN has a lemon? smell..I cannot tell what it is but it smells mediocre.

I think it's pretty awesome that 2.5% of the sales will go to projects that give children a safe place to play and have fun together in Fukushima Japan after the nuclear disaster in 2011.
I don't know what it says in Japanese, sorry!

Here are pictures of all three of the soaps:

The soaps are wrapped up in plastic like hard candies.  On the back of each soap, there's a list of ingredients.

I find it nice and personal that it shows a picture of who made it on the front of each soap, as well as the expiration date and when it was made.

First, I tried the Red FUN on my hair since it said that it would work as a shampoo.  My hair is longer than shoulder length and it was extremely difficult to get the product onto all my strands of hair.  I had to constantly wet the bar of soap because after scrubbing one part of my hair, it wouldn't produce anymore suds and so I found that annoying.

I think it would probably work better for shorter haired people.  After rinsing it off, it felt less oily but it felt like I didn't put on anything at all in my hair.  I think I would stick to my shampoo and conditioner.
Next, I tried the same Red FUN for my body.  I noticed that the smell doesn't stay on my body unless I rub it longer onto my skin.  For example, I washed my hands with it too and didn't stop scrubbing until my hands were filled with suds.  Then, the smell of oranges was prominent on my hands.  Otherwise, my body didn't smell like much.

I have to admit that since the bar of soap is like play-doh, it disintegrates easily and I managed to use half the bar of soap for my body and hair.

Above is an example of the suds it produced while I was washing my hands with a small piece.

In conclusion, I don't think I would buy this again.  If someone gave me this for Christmas, I'm sure I would have fun but otherwise, it's not something I would buy again.

I admit it's a cool, fun, and quirky idea to add to the bath/shower, but I think I will stick to my regular soap (Dove) and etc.

Here are the pictures of the Angels Delight Soap that I got for free!  I was definitely attracted to the different colours of the soap, but it also smells amazing!  It's a pretty big bar of soap that will take me a few months to finish.  It has a citrus smell to it that I love :)

It was $5.95 per 100g and the total was $7.85 CAD.

It feels like a treat every time I use it because it's so colourful and cool!

I hope you enjoyed this review and until next time,

-Melissa
